Verden International | National competitions
Verden International also offers a variety of national competitions that are particularly interesting for young horses and riders.
The best young Hanoverian horses compete in Verden every year in young horse development classes, dressage horse ability competitions and jumper riding horse classes for the title “Hanoverian Champion”. The three- and four-year-old riding horses as well as five- and six-year-old dressage horses present all their skills in the Hannoveraner Arena while the four- to six-year-old jumpers show their scope in front of a large audience in the Central Stadium. The best three- and four-year-old riding horses of their age-group are also nominated to represent Hanover at the Federal Championships in Warendorf.
Qualifier Piaff Challenge Cup
The Piaff Challenge Cup is designed for young riders aged 25 and younger with the potential to compete at the higher levels of dressage. The young riders and their horses can qualify at four dressage tournaments in Germany for the Final in the Schleyerhalle in Stuttgart. Verden hosts one of these qualifiers. The riders compete in Intermediaire II and in U25 Grand Prix.
Qualifier Nuremberg Cup
The Nuremberg Cup is the most important dressage series for seven- to nine-year-old dressage horses. The winners of the 12 qualifying competitions travel to Frankfurt to compete in the Final in the Festhalle. One of these top qualifying events is held in Verden this year.
